About Organically Green
Organically Green Horticultural Services has been Long Island's go-to name in plant, tree, and turf health care for over 36 years. From the Hamptons to Huntington, our ISA Certified Arborists and field teams deliver expert care across one of the most demanding and discerning client bases in the country. We are not a big-box landscaping operation. We are specialists, and everything we do reflects that.
The Role
This is not a desk job. It is not a purely sales role either. We are looking for someone who can move fluidly between leading a crew on a job site and sitting across from a client to walk them through a proposal. Someone who earns trust quickly, takes ownership without being asked, and genuinely takes pride in the work, whether that means picking up a shovel or picking up the phone.
The right person will not need the role fully defined for them on day one. They will help shape it. Our General Manager is looking for someone he can count on across the board, and for the right person, this role has significant room to grow.
What You Will Be Doing
• Work alongside crews in the field, including hands-on equipment operation, planting, and site preparation, while managing day-to-day workflow and team performance
• Conduct on-site property evaluations and develop plant health care and arboriculture treatment plans
• Coordinate crew scheduling, routing, and resource allocation across multiple job sites
• Meet with residential and commercial clients to assess needs, build rapport, and follow through on proposals and service agreements
• Collaborate with the sales and service team to ensure estimates are accurate and projects run smoothly from start to finish
• Provide technical guidance and hands-on training to field staff on equipment use, arboriculture standards, and best practices
• Maintain strong client relationships through consistent, professional communication and follow-up
• Track operational metrics, flag inefficiencies, and contribute ideas that improve how we work
• Keep inventory organized and equipment maintained and accounted for
Who We Are Looking For
More than anything, we are looking for a specific type of person. Technical skills can be refined. What cannot be taught is the kind of character and work ethic that makes someone genuinely dependable, adaptable, and easy to trust.
• You are just as comfortable working alongside a crew as you are leading one
• You take ownership of your work without waiting to be asked
• You communicate clearly, follow through on what you say, and hold yourself accountable
• You have a natural ability to read people and build relationships quickly
• You thrive in environments where every day looks a little different
• You genuinely care about doing the work right, not just getting it done
